The intellect assisting and protecting.

As I said in a recent post, the intellect enters the embryo at the start of the second trimester. The job of the intellect from that moment until the immune system becomes fully functional at around four and a half years is to protect and assist.  At that point the child becomes aware of it’s intellect and is able to enter the world at large.

The intellect’s tool for the job of ‘protect and assist’ is the genome, specifically, the epigenetic area.  Anytime the child ‘s actions result in a negative reaction the intellect methylates the genes that were involved in the action, deactivating the individual genes.  Anytime the child’s actions result in a superior result the intellect performs histone modification to the genes, which accentuates all of the individual genes involved in the action.

When we talk about childhood trauma we’re talking about methylated genes which are maintained with tension and so can be removed.  When we talk about evolution we’re talking about histone modification, which is permanent.
